About KaT

Kat is born and raised in the Niagara region and has always had a deep love of sports. It is this love of sports, in addition to her problem-solving skills (as she does love puzzles, all the puzzles), that has led Kat into a career as an allied healthcare professional, specifically Athletic Therapy and Massage Therapy.

The skills attained through these two professions allows for a combination of approaches to acute, chronic, and complex injuries often found in a clinical setting.  In creating a client centered environment, each treatment solution is tailored to the client and the injury at hand.  This is best achieved through a detailed medical history and assessment as well as a home program that clients can do outside of the clinic to help speed up their recovery time.

In addition to treating clients in the clinic, Kat can often be found on the sidelines of various sporting events in the Niagara Region.  Since fall of 2015, Kat primarily works with the District School Board of Niagara and the Niagara Catholic District School Board to provide on-field medical coverage for football, field hockey, cross country, hockey, rugby, lacrosse, and track/field throughout the school year.

However, through past placements and job opportunities, Kat has had the opportunity to work with various sports and competitive levels.  Some of her experiences include: Lakehead University Men’s and Women’s basketball as well as wrestling, volleyball, and track; University of Waterloo Men’s rugby and Women’s hockey; Wilfrid Laurier University Men’s rugby; Oakville Crusaders Rugby club; Stoney Creek Rugby club; Niagara Spears Football; Niagara Lock Monsters Lacrosse; Niagara Regional Raiders Football club; Niagara River Lions; OWHA provincial hockey tournament; and various school boards in Southern Ontario.

Kat currently resides in St Catharines, Ontario.  She enjoys reading, football, travel (esp road trips), and spending time with her pup Packer.
